She's such a sweetheart and I'm SO excited. My whole family is in love with her. I hope the image shows up to the left! I've been reading your advice and it's so helpful I'm sure I'll be asking for some soon (especially if her photo doesn't show up!

    Just thought I'd share!!

Thank you -- you are all so sweet!! She's exactly 4 lbs. in fact (at 8.5 weeks)! How big are your Shih Poo's at "adult" size? I know no breeder can truly predict a puppy's adult weight, but mine estimated 12-15 lbs based on her parents. Larger end of the spectrum, I suppose.

I also love her coloring and chose her for not only her disposition but her markings (I had seen Bailey and Trixie in earlier posts and just thought they were the cutest dogs!). My daughter was just begging for a "black and white puppy" -- and when we found her, we decided on "Boo!" since she has the black mask and we got her around Halloween! :p

We are just having a ball with her -- she couldn't be sweeter! Makes me want 20 of them!

Well, you picked the right shihpoos to ask about weight... (ha ha)... cuz Bailey is 14 lbs and i know trixie is bigger... but, they are definitely bigger than most of the other shihpoos out there. Funny thing is, we were told Bailey should be around 8-12 lbs. uh huhhhhhhh sure. lol......

Bailey weighed 3.5 at 9.5 weeks (his first vet appointment)....

Boo is so precious, and that's such a great name for a Halloween puppy.

[IMG] to the forum, and you have a beautiful family!

Sugarland, Texas..There was an old movie (Goldie Hawn??) the Sugarland Express...

Yes!! "Sugarland Express" was set here. It's now really a suburb of Houston, but at one time was it's own "town" before Houston started spreading out so much. Now "Houston Metro" encompasses so much area that where we are (Southwest), it takes us over an hour to reach the northern suburbs in NO traffic. Crazy!

So it sure has been fun reading all of your posts -- I've gotten so much info on everything from the types of food/ingredients to puppy behavior, to seeing some SERIOUSLY CUTE photos :y_the_best: ! We're just having a ball with our new baby!

And Monster Bailey -- you're right -- weight can vary so much. I used to have poms that were classified as "teacup" and wouldn't get over 6 lbs. Ha! I think at her heaviest, Sable was 12 lbs -- double the "estimate"! So Boo! may beat you all yet -- I could have a 20 lb Shih Poo on my hands one day. No sweat, though -- I'd love her at any size. I've never seen a dog with a sweeter disposition, that was SO nice to kids and visitors, and that was just so full of love. I'm in heaven!!!

Awwwww, ShihPooBoo, she's ADORABLE...how could that cute little girl not just melt your heart!!! :love_y_t_much:

I know how very excited you and your family were to bring her home, and I'm so happy that she's now in her wonderful new home with you and your family!

Give her lots of hugs and kisses from me!!! :D

Be sure to keep us posted with pics and updates! :y_the_best:

(BTW, your two little ones in the pic are just as cute! )

Mickey & Tigger are a year old, full grown, and both weigh 10 lbs. (their breeder estimated that they'd be 8-10 lbs. full grown, so she was right on the mark)!

    :D

    Did I count right??

 Kindness -- did I count SIX dogs in your signature -- (3) Yorkies and (3) Pugs? However do you do it? Do you breed dogs for a living? Bedtime must be QUITE something!!! :p

Thank you for the kind words. We have ALL been having a ball with Boo!

Shipooboo, I just love that picture with the kids! These poodle crosses seem to mix real well with little ones.

Reading your last post, and hearing in your words the adoration and love you have for this little baby, just makes me feel so good inside! it's the same feeling I get when I look into the eyes of any one of my 3 maltipoos! I guess I can relate to how you feel about Boo!!! And it only gets better, so be prepared!!!! Love having you here!

Thank you so much, Denise!! I feel really welcome and am enjoying this message boarding a bunch! Yes, Boo is such a dear and my whole family is loving her to bits. It really helps that her temperament is too sweet for words. Makes her so lovable. I WISH I could clone her! I'm truly glad that when our family made the decision to get a dog, we discovered the poo mixes (had no CLUE people actually bred mixes on purpose!!). There were a lot of things I wanted in a dog, and the poo mix kept fitting the bill over and over! Amazing -- you couldn't have told me before the whole puppy search that I would be looking for the breeder of a mix? That was tough, but we got lucky. We did have to get her from another state, but SO worth it. Wouldn't change a thing!

    Gena

Trixie is a DOLL!! 18 lbs -- no sweat! Perfect size, right? lol - Sounds healthy to me! I do wonder what Boo will weigh as an "adult". But who knows? My previous doggie (pom) was only supposed to be 6 lbs. And she was -- until age 2. Then she was 8. At age 5, she was 10 lbs. And by 8 years old she was 12 lbs. So I think it's safe to say no one really knows, huh? It's always fun!!
