I don't know what I wrong with my one cat. I have had her for 9 years and just this past weekend she hasnt been using her litter box. My other cat does but she just wont. Last weekend we were moving things around in the house and this is where it started. She pees on my bathroom rugs (so now we have a screen up so she catn get in) and this morning she went #2 on my bedroom floor like 2 ft away from the litter box. I just dont uderstand. Could she be mad at someone or what? Please help me, I am in desperate need of some info.

I am hoping it is just stress.. Maybe if I keep watching her for a couple days she will get better. If not then I have no choice but to take her to the vets. My cats names are Ninny (calico) and bumper (tiger). Ninny is the one with the problem. Maybe from all the moving around and stuff she is just stressed or mad at us. Do they make anything for temporary stress releive? Oh and I dont have any pics yet of my cats.

Thanks so much for your help. I am going to try a stress tablet or something like that. Then if that dont work to the vets we go. Hopefully you keep in contact. Thanks agian

Hello and welcome to the forum!

It sounds like it's stress related. Cats don't like their environment disrupted. I can't even leave a pile of clothes on the floor of my room. If I do, one of the cats will pee on it.....makes me clean up after myself though..lol

Give it a day or two.....if she is still doing that then a trip to the vet would be a good idea just to be sure it's not health related.

We started moving stuff around last week and have been doing it here and there all week. Hopefully this weekend we will be done. She did #2 in my room this morning so she keeps getting closer to the litter box. And maybe now that we put hte dog's cage in the living room she will go there. I will give it to monday then a trilp to the vets will probably happen. Thanks for all the advice.

sometimes adding another kitty box helps. i have two for my two kitties...actually three...i have a foster, but he is in the back bedroom.

rescue remedy helps (drops in their water) and feliway...to quiet them down. both can be found at petsmart or similar stores.

I have to be careful with the water only because the dog and my other cat drinks that too. HOpefully I can find something that she will eat on her own. We will see what happens. I just cant think of anything else that is making her do that.

    UPDATE on my cat

I dont know if she is using the litter box or not. I found "#2" on the floor yesterday but I cant find pee anywhere. I thought I smelled it yesterday but that was puppy pee in t he cage. I am taking her to the vets tomorrow night if nothing gets better. Just thought I would update you on everything.
