oops, I'm not I think i may have misunderstood something here... sorry.
I've been with my boyfriend for almost four years, and we've lived together for almost two years, and i've never found an english word for that.
So i assumed "hubby" was the magic word i had been looking for, but now i see that it might be short for husband???
Am I right?

 

Yes...Hubby is short for Husband. Just like Old Lady or Ball and Chain is short for Wife. Kinda sad isn't it?

They get something cutesy and we get torture devices and octogenarian nicknames. :roll:

But, in your case...I don't know..."boyfriend" seems too high school-ish. Perhaps Significant Other? No...that doesn't sound "lovey" enough. Don't worry I'd have trouble with it too and English is my first language! LOL.
