Silver Arowanas

i have a 75 gallon tank is it to small for a Silver Arowanas i plan to get a much larger tank next summer

 

Silver arowanas get over 3' long so you'd eventually need a 250+ gallon tank.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend getting one until you actually have the larger tank. Yes, it can live in the 75 for a while (they do grow quickly), but your plans for a bigger tank may fall through and you'll be stuck with a really big suffering in a really small tank.

I think Silver is as cheap and small as they come. :roll:

 

Liveaquaria.com has the Jardini Arowana (Scleropages jardini) and it says that they get to about 2' 4"(not sure how accurate that is). They say min 125 gallons but I'm guessing that it would need just as much space as a 3' Arowana.

theres red arrowannas that get to be about 15"

i dont like that site.......they say a FH will only get to 8" when in reality they usually get about 12"-14", althoguh in rare cases a few got to, i believe, 20"

 

I don't think that 15" for a red arowana is correct.
