Booger is uncoordinated...un-agile

Booger is so uncoordinated and anti-agile that it's caused a lot of laughter in our house. But it's also caused concern. We're afraid that she'll hurt herself because she thinks she's 'all that'.

She'll be walking the top of the couch and slip and fall off it...She'll be darting around a doorway and slam her head into the edge of the door...She'll be jumping up onto something about four feet high (Just over a meter high) and will totally miss and fall to the floor.

This is the most un-agile cat I've ever had or seen. But bless her heart, she tries. Hubby is worried that maybe here eye's are bad but she can spot a gnat on the ceiling two rooms away. I'm thinking maybe it's her equilibrium. I've noticed that she sneezes often...about 2-3 times a day. Not enough to think she has a URI and her vet never thought so either.

I'm taking her to the vet in a couple of weeks and I'll mention it to him. I think it's a sinus thing. Bad sinisus can definitely effect your balance.

With that said...I have to admit that she get's us laughing at her clumsiness at times. Just this morning, she was jumping from the coffee table to a chair and it looked like she changed her mind in mid air and put on the breaks and dropped to the floor. Then this afternoon...she took a running start across the room and jumped up ontop a large cardboard box, forgot to put the breaks on and slid across the top of the box and fell off the other side! And it's not like she doesn't have claws. The last time I had her clipped was mid October so her claws are fully back and sharp!

Most of the time, it's just silly stuff that really cracks me up but I'm afraid that she's going to hurt herself.

Hehehee...I'm sure it's a sight to watch!! Molly has issues with pawing things. She'll try to bury the floor..with the floor. ;)

Did Booger by any chance have any type of illness when a kitten? Kittens that have survived distemper often show a big lack of coordination..

Not that I'm aware of Karen. She did have a bad cold when we adopted her but that cleared up and she's been fine since.

Monty used to be uncoordinated too. When he was under 1 yr old, he'd bump into things when we played fetch. He has a dark spot on his nose from all bumpings. I'm sure Booger will outgrow this funny and clumsy phase and not get injured in the process.

ya know, Lex is a clod too. and it's ot coz he cant see or, whatever.. he's just a CLUTZ lol

he's lacking badly in the finese department.. it's funny, Raz has more coordination jumping places then Lex does.

hehe i wouldnt worry too much.
