    "Sicklid" is spelled "cichlid".

How much you can sell it for will depend on the species. Your best bet would be to check with the LFS's in your area and see what they're selling them for. I can tell you that the stores around here sell the more common african cichlids (mostly mbuna to be a little more specific) for $4 - $6.

Although african cichlids tend to be aggressive, they shouldn't be eating other fish as part of their diet. What his diet should be will depend on his species. And you should definitely not put him with piranhas. Either they'll kill him or he'll nip at them. Plus they have completely different water type requirements.

And if I where looking to buy a 15 gallon, for one with lights & hood, but no filter (how about a stand & heater?), and possibly decorations, food, and a fish, I'd probably be willing to pay around $30 - $40.

Most cichilids that size will only be sold at around 4 or so dollars. As for the tank, dont as to much for it, though it may have all needed not alot of people will be willing to pay large money for that. What price did you buy the tank at? Usually a used item is only worth 1/2 of the original price. So my 30 gal would only be worth about $40 since i bought it on sale for $80.

Jeez, you both get fish and equipment on the cheap! I live in the DC area and everything here is really expensive. A new 29g set me back $120, and that was after price shopping for the best price. I then went out and got a used one that included everything, stand included, except a heater and thermometer and that only cost me $50. Also, African cichlids here are $4 for the small ones and $8-$15 for the 'mixed African cichlid' tanks. I came across some beautiful fish that were $25 each at under an inch (I passed)!

Anyway, my rule of thumb for buying used tanks is $1/gal for the tank alone, then add for extras. 15g = $15, but since you're including the hood, light, and decorations you could could probably go ahead and post it at $30.

PS There's a giant red hand print on my forehead from the 'cichlid'/'sicklid' comments. lol

I wouldnt ask 75$ you will scare people off. My 20g was 20$ with filter and bubbler and hood, no heater tho, try 50$ maybe

For your cichilid you payed $25 and it was 2 inches? (guessing because you said it was about 4) Personally i think that was a rip off if that info is right. A lfs you can buy a 4 or 5 inch one as i said for about $5-6.
