Moe, Artemis & the new pillow (thanks, vene!)

Vene (the wonderful person that she is) sent Moe a Christmas present last week. Unfortunately, Artemis decided that he wanted it. Here are some pictures of the kids and their new pillow:

BTW, I love the first pic. That's how Rene kneads the pillow too. She's kneading us the same way now. :shock: She never used to until I started making the pillows.

Molly does that too..but to my stuffed teddy bear on the bed. My ex-roomie used to joke "She's molesting yout teddy bear again!... " :roll:

I go away on a mini holiday and you get a kitten Halaroo? Is this a foster kitten or are you keeping him? He's so cute! Is Moe being a big brat with him?

 

I sware, there is something about those pillows that kitties can't resist! I think Vene must be stuffing them with kitty-seditives or something LOL

What kind of fabric do you make yours out of Vene? It looks like a sherpa fabric on the bottom and something with a fairly long nap on the top?? And DO YOU stuff them with anything? I'd love to make one for my kitties....get them off my darn armchair! :?:

Nope, they are just stuffed with poly fill (hypoallergenic). It does have Rene scent on it since she's always kneading all my pillows as I'm making them. :roll:

I like to use the faux fur fabrics they have at Walmart. It sells for $3.57 a yard. For thread, I use 100% nylon, and I just stuff them with real pillows that they sell for $3 or the hypoallergenic polyfill or fiberfill that's $2 a bag and I can make 2 pillows out of that bag of fill. :mrgreen: I'm very thrifty. I wish I can make all the pillows out of leopard prints but they cost $10-$15 per yard. :shock:

 

hmm i should make some pillows for the cats. it sure beats buying something ready made that they dont like or spending big bucks on wool rugs. how did you get the paw print on?

But I have yet to actually sew it or anything. Mine's gonna be in grey/white like Aoisha instead of the orange/white....and the markings on the bed actually sort of match Aoisha's marking too.

I sewed it on. :mrgreen: Just copy the paw prints on the Auspet site and cut the forms and hand sew it on. It's really easy to make. Do you sew? If you have a sewing machine, it should take you 15 minutes to make. I hand sew so the whole pillow takes me 2 hours to make. :shock: Would you like a pillow Kyles? I'd be more than happy to make you one unless you have free time and likes to sew.

 

i certainly do sew! i use a sewing machine, im hopeless at hand sewing. your handsewing skills are excellent though! it looks like its all been done by machine. hopefully i can still find fleecy material, sometimes its hard to find in summer.

 

If you do find it it'll probably be on sale...

Me too. I also purchased the fish one. If I ever get a chance to make them, I'm going to experiment on Lynn's 3 stooges- Max, Mikey, and Chris! :mrgreen:

Fleece material is hard to find here too. I have lots of faux fur remnants. I can mail you some if you like!

 

Hi Chessmind. You missed all the fun last week! Yes, I did get a kitten. Sadly, he is bossing Moe around. :cry: Hopefully she'll smarten up and give him a good beating soon to show him who's boss. He's calming down a bit everyday though.

LOL Kyles! She's my favourite cat on here too! :wink: Artemis has a look about him that reminds me of Pepe. Uh-oh, is all I have to say about that!

Very cute pictures. Moe is adorable as we all know and Artemis is the cutest little kitten. I'm sure they will be best friends someday. Takes time.
