Cat w/ Suspected IBD recently not eating and very weak HELP!

My 10 year old cat, Frisky, has suspected IBD but we dont know for sure because we never did a biopsy. Recently, for maybe 3 days she hasn't been eating but semi heavy drinking. She ate a little bit on her own on the second day but today she doesnt want to. We've given her a myriad of things from chicken broth, which she kind of liked, to cottage cheese, which she refused. My mother wanted to put her to sleep on saturday morning but I didnt think that kind of a step was needed at the time. I still dont want to put her down. Today, she keeps putting her paws in her water dish and hovering over it taking sips occasionally and dipping her nose and lips in the water. The vet cannot find anything wrong with her but she is extremely lethargic and we are force feeding her with a syringe full of a mixture of liquified high calorie cat food, liquid vitamins and chicken broth. She seems to like that but shes still week. Please I need help with this, soon and her organs will fail. Maybe a viral infection?

I'm so sorry and cannot offer you any advice except for *hugs*. Have you tried second opinions?

Did the vet do any blood work or urinalysis on her? I think I would probably get a second opinion at this point if possible.

 

let us know if any bloodwork was done....does kitty appear to have a fever at all? Check the gums and see what color they are - they should be pink. Also you can check for dehyrdration by pulling up the skin between the shoulder blades. If the skin snaps back quickly no dehyrdration, if not this kitty should be at the vets for fluids.

You might have to forcefeed - but this cat really needs some bloodwork checked. IBD has other symptons than not eating....don't let this cat go more than 48 hours without food.

 

yes bloodwork has been done and nothing has been shown out of the ordinary, her gums are pale-ish and we have gotten a second opinion, the first vet was rude and basically shoved us out. This second vet said he wouldnt put her to sleep if she ate on her own and she did on saturday but today shes poked around at some bacon pieces but still wobbley.

I'm going to try the skin test for dehyrdration, but I doubt shes dehydrated.

and my mom and I are still feeding her a couple syringes full of our mixture every hour or half an hour. I think what ever she has is beatable because of how sudden the harshness was. Shes always been stressful and pukey but only recently has she gotten like imobile.
