    hi,
my cat is 8 months old. she is eating very little. i filled her dish with 1 cup of cat food 3 days ago, and it looks the same..not much changed. but she does eat treats when i give her. and she is drinking lots of water. she is pooping and peeing ok. she stoped drinking from her water dish. she doesnt seem to like it anymore. but she goes around the sink and lickes drops of water she finds. so, i fill some water for her in a different dish, and she drinks it. she threw up yesterday, a clear liquid. i started a new job a week ago, and i havent given her much attention. do you think that is what is causing it? maybe she is too bored and upset?

By all means, take her to a vet ASAP. Not eating is a very dangerous thing for the little gal. You mentioned that you filled her dish with a cup of food 3 days ago and it looks the same...Give her fresh food and water every day. Cats can be extremely fussy about things like that. Try lifting her to the kitchen counter and turning on the faucet on low to see if she'd perfer running water to still water.

I agree. She needs to see the vet. Do change her food and remember to wash her dishes, food and water , and rinse them well. Bacteria breeds on animal dishes too and can make them sick. Good luck

a cat shouldn't go any longer than 48 hours w/out eating. Off to the vet. Please let us know how your kitty does

yesterday night, i played with her for a long time, until she had enough, after that she went and ate ...she finished half a cup. So i think the problem was that she was too bored, and was just laying there with nothing to do. so she ate very little. but now she is eating much better. i am going to play with her every night after i come back from work. she likes running after the mouse on a string. i couldnt take her to the vet cuz i had a course to take in the weekend and by the time i finish, the vet would be closed. but i think she is ok now. hopefully she will keep eating and eating

    Cats want their food fresh..

Eman, my cats eat very little too and ignore their food if it was the same bowl from yesterday. I exhaust them with a laser pointer and it improved the appetite and keeps them asleep at night. I think it's good strategy.. :D

  so glad she is eating now. Cats needs love and attention. Perhaps you should spend a fraction of your time to play with her. I know sometimes we are just plain lazy or too buzy with our work and ingore our cat needs. I always try to play with Hugo when ever I'm back or and before sleep
