    Hi everyone!

I am the proud new mommy of 2 adorable kittens! They are both about 10 weeks old!.. They are the sweetest things you have ever seen...

I named them Enzo and Ollie.. they are brothers!

Anyways.. of course, with the start of mother-hood comes the start of worrying! :)

These little guys seem to both have colds. They have boogers in their noses and seem to be stuffed up. They are sneezing and coughing.

They also have extremely red eyes and eye boogies.
Sometimes their eyes won't open.. theya re stuck together from the goop :(

They are still eating and playing and bouncing around and being sweet...
    but I"m still really worried!

I have been cleaing their eyes with luke warm water and trying to wipe all of the crusty snot (eeewww) off of their noses and the go from their eyes.
I also have these eye cream that the woman who I got the kittens from gave me... I put it on their eyes almost every day.
It gets better then worse again :(

I have just made a HUGE move from my apartment to another apartment and had to take them with me... and it's cold in Brooklyn.. I'm sure that didnt' help, but I had no choice. I am really broke at the moment, b/c of the move and the Vet is expensive..
Of course I will take them.. I even have an appt. tonight, but I was wondering if there is any other solution first, or maybe one that is better!
    maybe you guys know something????

    Thank you all so much

    Aggie

Welcome! We'd love to see pics!

The vet is the best bet. Good luck with your appointment.

It may be an Upper Resp. Infection. If so, they will need treated (I don't think the drugs are too expensive).

Good luck and keep us updated.

I probably missed you running off to the vet - but I'd also take the ointment this person gave you to the appointment. If it's making their eyes worse it's most likely some over the counter stuff.

Most likely URIs and they'll probably get Clavamox for it. They sound cute and can't wait to see their pictures

yeah sounds like a respitory prob..my little Romeo had it at 8 weeks when i got him..he got some kind of antiboitic for his eyes and some type of penicillan for his cold...i just wiped his eyes w/ a damp cloth and gave him his meds twice a day..i think i paid $18 for the penicillian stuff and like $10 for the eye medication...Romeo had to have 2 rounds of the penicillan stuff bc his cold took forever to go away due to the fact he also had ringworm..poor thing..but he is just fine now..

    Congrats on the new babies!!

Congrats on your new babies and welcome to the forum!

Sound like URI to me too. Call around to a few different vets you might be able to find one that is affordable. I think Petsmart has a low cost vet clinic so you might want to check there if you have one in your area. Good luck.
