Kitten wetting in our bed while we are in it!!!!!!!!

My kitten is litter trained and also had its mother around to show it what to do. I have seen her go in the litter box. She only pees in the bed no dodo. Sometimes we are in it sometimes not. She is not too lazy to get out of the bed. In fact she goes then leave the bed. She doesn't ever sleep with us, she usually just gets on the bed to cuddle or to just pee. I have three other older cats that do not do this. I have tried everything I can think of. My hubby is to the point he wants to get rid of her but she is the baby of my cat. I don't want to get rid of her. For months she did not do this. Then we moved and she started to go on our bed. After so long she stopped til we had to move again. Now it is starting again. I have noticed that if I change the sheets right away she goes again. But if I remove the sheets and leave the bed bare she doesn't. Please help I don't want to get rid of her.

    !! !! !! !!

:m27: i have had this happen to...we took our kitten to the vet and had test ran because we thought she had no control over her bladder :m9: ....well after a month we took he to another vet...and he asked us a simple ??? which made me very uncomfortable but he was to a point..lol he ask if we have sex in the bed and wait a couple of days before we change the sheets..(i know ewwwww :-& ) kitten or cat can smell :m16: it...but hay there are a lot of people who do that..he said a kitten or a cat will do this sometimes to mark his or her tertory :m29: ....i know it sounds crazy but you never know :0011: .....best bet is to take lysol to the matress real good and flip it and put clean bleached sheets so the kitten doesn't smell the urine....need to break now once they get into the habbit it take for ever to train them different if you can at all....good luck..shy :y_the_best:

you said that the kitten repeats the behavior after moving and then stops, then repeats when there is another change in location...this could be the cat acting out. i have a 4 1/2 yr old cat who i had for a year before starting my current relationship. he was none to pleased when there was someone else to share my attention or our bed. he would pee in the bed, usually when i was in it, look at me to make sure i saw what he was doing and then let loose!! many cats don't like change, so this may be the kittens expression of that.

i would talk to the vet and see what they say, but like nix_83 said, you definately want to wash your sheets, spray down your matress and flip it, so not to encourage repeat behavior and a habit.

    good luck!!

Absolutely, my Maddie would wet our bed a lot, usually meant she was upset about something. Once, she wet the bed when my husband was sleeping in it...deserved or not...she was trying to make a point.

Long ago. my Joe Rockhead kitty wet the diaper bag after my daughter was born, he wanted to show us he wasn't getting attention. He even went so far as to...well.. .pee in the toaster...'cause he wanted me to know he didn't like being fed after the kids got their toast.

Who says communication is a lost art!

Might want to go to the pet store and get "lassie spray" I think it's called. Smells awful but keeps the cats/pets away from places you don't want them to end up.

my gosh what a horrible problem to have!

all the advice given was great! in the end perhaps ask your vet... i was given the phone number for a cat behavioral expert since Raz is blind they wanted to make sure he didnt have any 'issues' due to it. luckily, i didnt have to touch the number.

but perhaps you could find such a number for a place in your area and consult them. Good luck!

:m23: and welcome! Yep, sounds like you got great advice already. I thought cats won't go on the same place where there's food involved. Maybe you can place some dry kibbles on the bed that your kitty isn't crazy about. :0011: Please post pics of your furbabies. We love to see! [-o< :m7:
