Just make sure it's not one of those "black lights". They can cause some damage to your fish and their behavior. A black light is designed to make certain objects appear to glow in the dark. Other than that, just check and make sure the wattage is matched up to your light receptacle and you should be fine.

I now wonder if i can put guppies or what other kind of lil fishes i can put in with my betta in the 10 gallon tank?

You may get some aggression problems with your betta if you add guppies (although I never have I've heard others have had problems).

You could also try a few zebra Danios. I have them in my 20G with the gouramis and they seem to mind their own business and only school with each other. I doubt they'd be fin nippers.

Ahh this brings back memories. Bettas and guppy DONT mix in my expericence. My betta went postal and killed like 4 or 5 guppys in 1 or 2 days. I hear they can be triggered to attack male guppys because of there fancy tails. It apperently looks like another male betta. This is what my LFS told me

You can. Although some bettas are very aggressive. Have you ever had
other fish in with your betta? If you have then tell me (or us) what happened and we will try to tell you!

a good thing about danios, is some develop very long finage, much like a Betta. the colours, if you look closely are blue and green and various different colours. i am not sure why some danios grow big finage and others dont tho. i have 6 lepord danio's and all but one has large finage.

The light you refere to, the blue moon i believe, its a great light, i use it with a normal light as mine is double lighting, the blue moon at the back, but my BF used just a blue moon, and it made the tank look very mysterious, it was great for his nocturnal fish. they came out more often.
