Its official! Richie is no longer feral!

I think its safe to say that he is completely tame now and he loves my attention. And who would have thought?? :? ....he loves to be held!!
For the past week I've been picking him up several times a day. Its so funny because he just hangs his head and his arms and if the other cats are nearby he tries to smack them while I'm holding him...the second I put him down he plops down on his back and rolls around. He follows me around the house now too. Yesterday he tried to follow me out the door but thankfully I shut the door just in time. LOL. I can't believe what a wonderful, lovable boy he has become.

 

Awww! Yay for domesticated kitties I think it's great to watch a feral cat become tame, because you get to see all sides of their personality. Not to mention you get to gloat when they do finally come around

 

It's such a wonderful feeling when you finally become accepted, trusted and loved by a furbaby. They are so painfully honest with their feelings that the earned trust and love is an honor

That's wonderful, Nern! I completely understand how happy you are about this, as I went through the same thing with my wild little Juliet. It's a good feeling to know that they like and trust us.

i'm so happy for u. He's now repaying all that time and attention u gave him in the beginning... and i remember that. He's come a long way...i'm so happy for the both of u

 

Eternal is right........he has come a long way. I'll never forget the story you told of how he came to be living with you and the shape he was in and how painfully shy and scared he was. Congrats on all of the hard work and bless Ritchie. What a good boy he is!!!!

thats wonderful, nern...it is a reflection of you, as you should know...your love and patience, and his siblings...how they love him. i feel the same with christopher. everyday, he is more loving. it used to be that he only looked at the ground...now he looks up at me, and looks in my eyes...knudges his head into my hand.
