Malti-Poo can't stop licking!

:kiss_heart:I have a 9 month old Malti-Poo, Pookie. She is driving us crazy with her licking us all the time. It is constant, she licks any part of our body as long as she can get to it. [-X And anybody that comes over to visit. She was just fixed a couple of weeks ago and ever since she had gotten even worse. anybody out there that can help me with this? :0011:

 

My little dog was into people licking too. What worked for me was to look her into the eye, say no and gently push her on her chest away from me and ignore her every single time. It took less than two days to completely stop and she has become a loving lap dog. My teen aged son had to do the same thing with her and after that, she quit trying to lick anyone. She just needed to learn our "pack" rules.

 

Believe me I have that, it has gotten to the point that when I push her away and sa no , she begins to think it is a game and will test you to see if you mean it over and over again! Is licking just a bad habit?

 

If you consider it a bad habit, then it is. I've seen a few owners who like the constant licking. The game can be stopped by getting up and walking away everytime. One of my clients was having a very hard time of it. I gave har some bitter apple which she applied to her hand and up her arm. Whenever she tried to pet him he'd always prefer to lick her rather than being petted. The bitter apple tuned him off of it.
