I need a little help with deciding what to do with my fish... Right now I have a 55g tank with one tiger oscar (8 inches) and a 30g tank with a jack dempsey(about 3 1/2 inches), two pink convicts(1 1/2 inches each) and an electric yellow cichlid (1 inch)

All of the chiclids in the 30g tank were the same size when I bought them but the jack dempsey shot up in size and is now picking on his smaller "tank buddies"

I've considered putting the jack dempsy in with MIA, my oscar but her big googley eyes look like they would be easy targets if he decided to get agressive. And I'm sure she could do some damage too given her advantage in size....

    any suggestions?

Your 55 isn't large enough for an oscar and a JD.

Really, you need to return some fish or buy more tanks. If you want the JD by itself, you'd need at least 40 gallons. If you wanted to put it with the oscar, you'd need about 90 gallons.

Your 30 gallon would be fine for the cons (but they really shouldn't be mixed with the electric yellow so you'd have to find it a new home). If you got the 90 for the oscar & JD, you could upgrade the cons to the 55 and leave the electric yellow in the 30 and get a few more electric yellows.
