New 30 gallon Tank

Hey guys,

Im new to this site as well as having a tank. My wife and i always had like the fish bowl with like a gold fish but this is our first tank. My wife would like to have 2 angel fish and some neons as well as a sucker. What do you guys think we should do? I also would like a small shark but i havent researched it yet. Any ideas or help would be appreciated!

 

neons and angels arent compatible, at least in my exp....the angels i had would always kill the neons.

 

We saw some together in a tank today. It was a larger tank but they were together. What other fish would your recomend?

 

what are you looknig for in a fish? do u want a nice community or what?

 

i agree with grnlemonade on the neon maybe put 2 angels and 3-5 tiger barbs and a clown pleco (PECKOLTIA VITTATA)

 

yeah we looked at tiger barbs today and did some research. We also got a couple of bottom feeders and 4 neons to start. we will wait a few weeks before we add anything else. For sure my wife has her mind set on a couple of angel fish but we would like to have a nice variety.

Yeah the tank is fine now we have done all the tests and stuff.
We also bought 4 tiger barbs

 

Tiger barbs and neons is a toss up IMO. Normally tiger barbs would harass smaller fish in the tank(neons) but if you have 4 they might just quarrel amongst themselves. Let us know. -tl

 

Yeah they told us that the tiger barbs if they are in a school they wont bother the smaller fish and so far they havent.
