    Hello All,

I have decided that I want to grow Abbey's hair into the traditional Shih Tzu style with top knot.

Has anyone ever done this? Any advice on how to deal with it, until it is long enough to tie up?

My cousin that owns a shih tzu tried to do it with hers but the only time her gets groomed is when they take him to the groomers and it got terribly matted.

Here's a site I found for you it shows different styles of top knots and explains how to do them.

With proper maintenance matting shouldn't be a problem. Good Luck!

flatten the pokey hair with vaseline. That'll hold it down until it gets longer and protect the eyes.
