New Pictures of Juniors ear job!!

Ok, I got Juniors ears cut and we are preparing to go to show this year.
For those of you anti-ear docking, dont bother flaming me, you wont change my mind about it, and I dont care anyway....

Beautiful looking dog! I'm not anti ears cropping, but he had nice ears before, very lovely ears actually I would have left those ears of expression. But he looks good and has a nice crop.

 

He is seven months old now, and weighs in at 40 lbs. I expect he will end up gaining another 20-25lbs over the next 18 months. I cut them a little later than normal but I was holding on to a romantic Idea that he would be able to really match up without them done, around here, though, its status quo.
True- that picture paints a pretty picture but he seldom holds them like that.

oh haha, i love it when they hold their ears like that, Santana did, then they get batty now, Venom did too and I cropped them, I'm still torn about it. Should I have left then or did I do the right thing? They were perfect ears to me, so handsome, but he looks really sharp with it done.

He looks like he's shaping up nicely, too bad about the ears (about you having to crop him to keep him in competition in the ring, not about the cropping itself), but you can't do much about it when that's the ideal people have in their minds.

 

I agree that its a true shame you had to have those beautiful, velvety ears chopped off just to be able to compete.

 

Goob, He is coming along well, its just an akward time in his grown/development that keeps me on edge. On top of general conformation issues to worry about, now I get to stack on fretting over a good ear job!

As you can see from the pictures he turned into a mamas boy that day, maybe he was mad at me. All in all it seemed to be pretty painless for him, he just had to get used to all the new air getting in his ears.

Dont get me wrong, I could show him without his ears done, the owner of his sire suggested strongly that I not go natural. She has much more experience than me so.....

 

I don't really have an opinion on ear cropping other then i don't do simply because I don't need to. Its is unfortunate though that he has to have it done for a show where people set certain standards. Anyways he was adorable before and adorable now such a great face.
