Rinsing out test tube..

Hey everyone.. do you guys think that rinsing out the test tube for hte amonia tests etc. with tap water will ruin the results?? I make sure it is dry but is that enough?? And if there were a few drops of water could that ruin the results as well??

Rinsing Out the test tube

My experience has been no effect as long as the tube is dry. I recently went through new tank syndrome and subsequently had to do testing daily. My amonia test kit is the test tube type and I did not seem to notice any effect on the results...again, as long as the tube was completely dry. I see no reason not to use tap water.

Hi drab911, After testing the tank water I always rinse out the tubes a couple of times with tap water to make sure there are no reagents left in the tube. Then the next time I test the tank I rinse the tubes with tank water a couple of times before testing to make sure I don't get a false reading.[/b]
