Can dogs get hiccups?

Hi I just posted another subject, but forgot to add that I was also wondering if dogs can get hiccups? Rayna gets what seems to be hiccups at least once a week. Is that normal?

    Thanks

I remember once when i was a kid and I thought my chi had hiccups, but she was going into labor. (Not that that helps, but I thought it was funny)

Hi yes like humans all animals can get the hiccups they usually just pass.
One of my dogs gets them all the time usually after having a drink but they usually pass within a few minutes.

My Lab\Border Collie mix gets them when he gets overly excited or after he eats or drinks to fast. :D

Yeah they can, Lyla had them just last night. Some get them more than others. If the dog seems to be otherwise eating well and healthy, I don't think it is a big problem.

    Thanks for all your responses!
I had dogs while I was growing up, but when I was a kid I didnt much pay attention to their medical health... I just wanted them to play!! And now that I have my own I just cant remember if thats normal or not, so I thankyou very much for putting my mind at ease :D

    yep! mine has gotten them...

My puppy got hiccups the other day. They didn't seem to bother him much and went away after a few minutes. I was pretty surprised though.
