Nice of you to take in the puppy :)
Wish the county cared more :\ It's that way here, too. My friends and I happened by 3 partial skeletons (back bone and ribs, but no tails, legs or head) with all the meat and flesh ripped away, and fresh blood on the bones. ritualistic, maybe? Anyway, we called animal control, and all they said was "so what do you want us to do about it?" *sighs* so unfair that people can get away with things like that :(

pat yourself on the back!!!! \:D/ glad to see she is going to a new home!

did you tke pictures of the dead puppies? I would and put them up at our local post office! and maybe even puy a add in the local paper! it amazes me to see how animals are treated! we moved to pa from md and the local laws are soo different! everyone needs to check them out and if you don't agree with them then we need to speak out against animal cruelty!

what state and town do you live in everyone should write your town and congressman!

As for that vet he needs to be reported to the vet board! he took a vow when he became a vet to help animals...no he doesn't have to bankrupt himself but should help defray the costs of rescue!

Speak out, know your animal rights!!!They can't speak so we have to!

We didnt get pictures but we did get a cop to go see them. He went yesterday, and told me they had been busted before for a Meth lab....I dont think this will help dogs they have in the future, but the cop told them that he would report them to the humane society and they would be fined, and they gave him the dogs! So he took home the mom and dad and the last pup. The other pup we had seen alive had been hit already. Anyway, he took those to the vet, and they all have sarcoptic mange pretty bad, lots of fleas and worms, and need to gain a bit of weight, but his vet said they are "very saveable". The cop is going to keep the moma dog for now, the vet took home the male(he was the worst off), and the pup when home with one of the vet assistants.

    Dead puppies on the road?

That would be enough to bring out the authorities.

What kind of "vet" doesn't treat sick animals. Making animals well is the job of the vet.

I wish you'd sought another vet before vaccinating. A dog that ill should NEVER be given any vaccine (especially with an immune compromised disorder). Unless a dog is 100% healthy it should not receive any shots.

Treatments for mange can be very toxic for an animals system. It needs to be determined what type of mange it is. Please do not treat this dog further without taking it to a second vet or shelter. All dogs have the mites that cause mange, most dogs just have strong enough immune factors to suppress symptoms.
