she has 3 horses, 3 guinea pigs, 10 gallon tank, 5 gallon tank, 2 bettas, a puppy, a hamster, and now she wants a parakeet! Her family can't already afford to buy food and necessary things for her animals! She has to feed her guinea pigs and hamster horse grain and hay because they can't buy food! and she uses paper shreds as bedding because she can't buy bedding! How can I tell her she already has too many pets? please help!

Best way to do this is by telling her that a birds diet has to be exact otherwise this can result in death.

Its rather cheap to keep a keet but they also need time spent with them training them and being allowed out of the cage exercise.

I would suggest your friend wait until they get things sorted out and she has a job to help look after these animals.

Horse grain is not a good food to feed hamsters and guinea pigs as they need a varied diet otherwise this can cause problems with the digestive tract.

Basically tell her that your only saying this because your a friend and do not want her to go through the heart ache of losing a pet over something like this.

I know its hard and you will feel awful for saying something but if she is a true friend she will thank you for it in the long run.

thanks. I also though about giving her some money for guinea pig and hamster food. because she doesnt understand the concept that you can't feed them horse food. with using paper as bedding, i think that that's ok to use for now right?

The shredded paper is ok but she is better off with straw or woodshavings.

Since she has a horse they will use either woodshavings or straw for in its stable so they could use that well clean straw i mean not stuff thats already been in the stable
