My dobie is kinda horny. He is one year and one month and he wants to do it with every female dog he sees, big or small. A friend of mine has a 3 year old dobie and asks me if my dobie and his should have a "get together" when the female is in heat. My question , is my doggie old enough to do the thing?? When should he start?

To breed or not to breed is the question? No is the answer

    Hi:
Just a question? Why do you wish to have them "do it"?
Here is a good link for you to read.
From someone who has been involved in animal rescue for a long long time now, please don't breed.

Every time you breed your dog, you contribute to this:

That's really all I can say on the subject. No one on pet boards is really very excited about untitled dogs "doing it" with other untitled dogs to make more backyard breeder puppies.

Boy I'll say what a powerful picture. It makes me cry just to look at it.
Certainly does make a statement on WHY NOT TO BREED!
Those poor homeless animals. Hopefully it will make a difference and get thru to people why not to breed.
    Thank you for posting it.

If you are going to breed you need to do research and you need to do the nessasary vet visits , not to mention have homes lined up for the pups, there are so many things you need to know and do before you breed. Please don't breed any animal until you know what you are doing, that will only contribute to more animals in shelters and some will never find that forever home that they need.
