Diahhrea in my older cat.

Was wondering if anyone has dealt with this...my older cat Bailey, is about 13 now and is experiencing chronic diahhrea. He leaves me presents all over the place, and I was wondering if anyone has ever dealt with this? He is completely indoor, so I would think it highly unlikely that he would have a parasite...

 

I'd still rule out any parasites first.
I'd also have a full blood panel done. At this age you should be getting blood panels done yearly, if possible. It does help to catch any potential aging problems quickly.
Have you changed foods at all?

 

I too have a older cat with the same problem. Spook is 16 now, stays inside always, has had no change in diet but has also lost about 9 lbs in 6 months. Our vet said there is nothing to worry about that he is just getting old and we should prepare ourselves for the next step in his aging process. He is also throwing up about half the time when he eats. I thought hair balls but the vet said not. Does this sound anything like yours?

 

I'd get their kidney levels checked....

 

Sounds exactly the same. He goes in spurts where he is ok for about a week then starts it up again. He seems to eat normally and seems fine otherwise, but I think I will take him in to the vet anyways to make sure nothing major is wrong with him.

 

Mine has a appointment tomorrow. The vet suggested he might have a urinary tract infection. Spook seems fine today but you can tell he just don't feel well.
