    Hello,

We are very worried. Tiegan is a Maine Coon, 11 months old. She had a sore on her tail a couple weeks ago and we thought our other cat got mad at her and bit it. However, now it looks like there are more sore spots, so se don't think Filli did it. We cut the fur off around the sore a couple days ago and cleaned it up and today there was another sore and it was bleeding. We live in Germany and nothing is open tonight or on the weekend (no vets). Can anyone shed some light, please? She is our baby and we are so worried!

could be abcessed wounds...you'll need to keep them scab free and clean if that's what it is

Hi and welcome to Auspet. :D Have the vet take a look at her tail on Monday. As long as she is eating and drinking and acting normally, I'm sure she will be fine until then. Let us know what the vet says.

    Thank You for replying!

    Hi Guys,

Thank you for all the support and advice. She seems to be acting pretty normal, they both have been laying around alot because the weather has been abnormally hot. 8) I am trying to insert a picture of them now, we'll see if it works. I'll defnintely let you know how it goes at the vet tomorrow.

To post a picture you need to use the url to each picture with the img tabs on both ends, like this:

    She is all better....

    Hello There!

Tiegan has made a full recovery. We took her to the vet clinic downtown last monday and it it a teaching clinic. The students were great with her, but the big burly German woman Dr. was rough and Tiegan scratched her. poor kitty... Anyway, they said it was most likely an allergy or an infection from something foreign, so they shaved her tail, which looks crazy, but it has feeled great. They put her on antibiotics and she did great. We hid the pill in a treat and no problems getting her to take them, she loves her treats. :D Thanks for all your help we really appreicate it! We have never been in chats before and they are great!
