any experts here? if so, do you have any idea what she is? people ahve said midas, others said red devil, others have said midas x red-devil, others say midas x reddevil x something else. here are some pictures i took of her a few hours ago.....i just got her yesterday at the LFS for $13.00 and she is about 7-8" from tip to tip. im saying she is a she because i vented her before getting her becuase i could use her in a breeding project i have going on....so........ what type is she and any comments are appreciated.

the flash washes out her color a bit, but you can kind of see she has pink on some parts of her. im surprised, she didnt really get stressed at all since i brought her home and she appears to have slight HITH so ill have to work on that.

are you sure about that? the majority of people i have asked on other forums said she was a RedDevil x Midas. haha, thses two species are so hard to tell apart, especially when you interbreed them.

i have a fish exactly the same ive always believed it to be a female red devil , her colour is not as strong as yours but that could be the food i feed her

I was thinking it was a red devil as well. I'm far from being an expert on those two species, but from the pics I've seen, red devils look like they have a much more pointed head.

haha, yea....i can dip mny finger in the water and she will follow my every move, or i can even put my finger on the outside of the glass and she does the same.

be careful with that finger in the water red devils have sharp teeth and can draw blood , mine has never bit me but i have had her since she was a baby she will attack anyone else who puts there face or hands on the tank

thanks for the advice and heads-up carolann. im confident in myself doing that however, i have flowerhorn and they pack quite a larger bite then the Rd....i was bit by one and now i have a scar on my pinky  im used to dodging and evading bites.....i sued to have RBP, then i had africans for a while, now i have this RD x Midas and FH.....thanks anyway.......so, how big is that RD of yours? and is it a male or female?

I think its midas X RD. Reddevils have massive lips...that one doesnt really.

its a female shes about 11inches long and quite aggresive made worse by the fact shes in a 120 litre tank. she was in a 600litre tank ( don`t know how many gallons that is)with all my other fish but she attacked the oscar all the time so got her out she may get a new home one day but she will have to wait as the pennys are short at the moment . ( how do i post a photo?????)

firstl have the photo on your computor resized.......then go to www.photobucket.com, register, then upload a photo....after that copy/paste the IMG code to your psot and it should post the picture.

Great looking fish what ever it is. Im sticking with Midas X Devil though. I would almost bet money on the fact it isnt 100% Red Devil.
