giving dogs raw eggs daily???

I've heard from several people that giving a dog a raw egg every day (unshelled of course) or every week will help smoothen their coat and they shed less, is this true? Will eggs hurt the dogs at all?? If it is true which would be better daily or weekly? I think daily sounds like a lot, so maybe weekly or monthly? Any responds are appreciated...

I give Luther eggs all the time (with the shell!) I have heard it is good for their coat. I don't think there is anything wrong with eggs

I give my dogs a duck egg every other day or so. The eggs seem to make their coat shinier. I am not sure about less shedding. They don't seem to shed much anyway.

How do u give them eggs with the shell, break the whole thing in a bowl or just give it to them whole?

I feed him outside, but I give it to him and he'll toss it for a while then it breaks and he eats it, but sometimes, if I feed him in a bowl I break it in there and leave it all in there.

I've only heard of it being broken into a bowl without the shell and given to them. I think I might try giving my dog eggs and see if I can see a difference in the smoothness of the hair.

I break the egg open over their food without the shell.

My two boys get a raw egg every Sunday as a special treat. I break the eggs into thier bowls with the shell. Duke just eats the egg and leaves the shell. Freckles eats everything and then eats the shell that Duke left in his bowl.

I break Bonnie's egg into her bowl and then toss the shell in. Actually, I sort of just toss the whole egg in so that it breaks when it hits the bowl.

For Nala, I hand her egg to her when she is outside. She takes it to her favorite eating spot and lies down with it and gently punctures it with her canine tooth and laps the egg out.

Both usually leave the shell, but sometimes they eat it.

The first time I gave Nala an egg, she was so funny! She carried it around and tossed it a couple times and it didn't break! Finally when it broke she realized it was food.

If I give one to Bonnie instead of putting it in her bowl, she rolls it around with her nose and paws at it forever until finally it breaks.
