2 Eye Ulcers..a sign of something bigger?

Got a question for you all -
As you know, my cat, Squeekie, had an ulcer in his eye (the vet said it was due to trauma, NOT herpes virus). We had to hit it with some serious antibiotic drops (better than the usual cream) to get it to heal up and it did recover. It has been over a month, and now his OTHER eye has the signs of a superficial ulcer. It is still small and I am treating with a antibiotic cream that the vet gave me last time (non-steriod, but not as good as the drops. The drops ran out a long time ago). I think it is strange that he would get an ulcer a month later in the other eye. I can tell that is what this must be because it has the same look as before.

My question is: Are frequent ulcers in a cat’s eye a sign of something more serious, or should I just chalk it up to my two cats rough housing too much?

I am hoping the cream clears it up and we do not have to take the cat into the vet (again!). All total, the last eye problem cost us close to $400. We have had cat related health issues since spring and we really need to financially recover. I don’t need to tell you guys that money has been tight all over. :p

Hi. Sorry to hear this. It can be from a lot of things. I'll post a link for you, as you can determine for yourself what you think may be going on. A vet check is always a good idea. Keep us posted.

Thanks. The eye seems to have cleared up this week with the antibiotic cream. As happy as I am that it cleared up right away, I will still bring it up to the vet the next time I call or go in. For now, I will just figure it is too much horsing around. I wish Squeekie would stop picking fights! The fact that Aries is twice the size of him does not seem to discourage the little troublemaker!
