my imitation of coughing up a hairball....but anyway PhotoIsland is closing shop as of Nov. 22 so if you have photos stored there you'd best be getting them. PhotoBucket isn't accepting any new signups for awhile. Buggers

LOL's about the coughing up hairball imitation! I just heard yesterday too and I thought it was a prank. :( I guess my picture posting days are over. :m13:

I hope you got the hairball up.

Photoisland is shutting down?!?! \Do you know why? I guess I won't be posting pics, either. That, and I guess my avatar will go bye-bye.

I went into Photo Island today to upload a couple of pictures for the contest and wasn't able to do it. Found out later by email that they are shutting down.

Now what am I going to do? This is awful. One of you mentioned snapfish but some one else said you can only email them.

Where can we go to put pictures on here? This is sad. Snifffff. :m13:

I'm testing www.upload4free.com real quick - it looks like a very
simple but interesting site. You don't have to sign up or anything.

    Let's see if it works.

EDIT - it seems to work. But I think it's very simple. You don't sign up... you get to the main page and simply load your photo. After that, you have a url for it and then can go to the site and get your (what was called on photoisland) like for auction out of the address bar in your browser.

    It will work for me.

(it was off a link that EternalFlame pointed us to - thanks EternalFlame!)

Yes, you can. That's how I have been posting all of my pics. All you have to do, is right click on your picture, scroll down to properties, copy the address and then paste the pic here (with the 'img' tags of course).

I used upload4free and it worked at first. But, now I see a red X. I wonder what happened. I went to the site and it says the image doesn't exist.

    I'll have to keep trying.

Mary_NH - what did you use in your test? I see it's working.

Mary, after you uplod the pics at www.snapfish.com they will show up as tiny pics. However, if you click on the photo of your chioce it will then make it into a large pic. This is the pic that you will right click on and scroll down to the properties and copy the address.

Ludicidity03, Mary used www.upload4free.com . You can see where people's pics come from if you right click on their pics and select 'properties.'

    Chessmind, thanks.

Something must've happened when I used upload4free since it worked at first and then the page disappeared.

Either way, I can use my one website to post - so that way I know where my pictures are and I won't worry about them going away.

Sorry big fuzzy picture. Let's see if it stays up. My other ones didn't come up that big on photoisland.

That's a cute pic, but it's too big. It's 1024X768. Is there anyway to make them smaller from the site you used ( www.upload4free.com )? I'll have to go check that site out tonight after work and see.

test again. Hope it is smaller
    [IMG]

Well, I made it smaller. That seems to be better. Sorry to keep doing this. Don't know where else to experiment to see if it works. Hopefully this one will not disappear like lucidity's did earlier.
