Anyone ever hear of a Jug?

I was shopping in the mall with my kids the other day and of course they wanted to go in the pet store. They had a lot of diffrent breeds and some cross breeds. They had the normal doodle breeds. Then I saw this little pup, it said Jug on the cage. I knew it was half Pug but couldn't figure out what it was mixed with. I asked the lady. Turns out the other half was Jack Russle Terrier. Ugly little dog. There is now way I would pay $700 dollars for it. It looked like a pug but was redder in color and it's muzzle was longer. If you ask me it was not a good combination. I love the Pugs flat little face. I understand the allergy reasoning for cross breeds but what in the world is the purpose in this? Both breeds are heavy shedders and it certinally wasn't cute. Not to mention it's a mixed breed dog.

Probably thought Jug would be a funny name. I really wish people would decide to go to the shelter and make up these cute little names instead of paying someone $700 to breed the mixes.

I agree with both of you, thi is just plain nonsense, tyring to create these new designger breeds, and they will probably have lot of medical problems

I have 3 pugs and to me a Jug would be like having a hyper child. YUCK . I get so angry when people say they have bought them a designer dog. they really think they have something. A neice of ours gave 500 for a 1/2 pug 1/2 beagle.i'd rather have the pugs anyday.

what gets me is that they will pay 100-1000$$'s on a mutt, but think its outrageous to pay the $45 adoption fee from a shelter for the same kind of dog, a MUTT!!! I don't get it......

plus breeding something as active as a jack russell with a pug who has breathing problems is just cruel. great, inherit activeness and breathing problems.
