Boys: When their balls have dropped from thier bodys enough for the vet to feel both of them durring an exam. I think my cat was about 4 months old.

2 pounds....my vet prefers to wait until the kitten (male or female) is 3 months of age but generally as long as they weigh 3 pounds they will be fine under anesthesia. My fosters get done on July 1st and they are only 7 weeks old right now...but as long as they weigh 3 pounds they'll be done (Siamese rescue won't let them go to their new homes if they aren't spayed/neutered - don't want people breeding them....smart).

Ask your vet what they prefer to do.

yeah you should get them neutered....not only the spraying part but when their hormones take control look out!!!!

By neutering your cat, when old enough, you are being a part of the solution rather than part of the problem when it comes to the overpopulation of unwanted cats sitting in shelters.

So please please neuter him when he's old enough. Not only will you be happier but so won't he  he won't be getting into fights with other cats if he goes outside, he won't be spraying all over the neighborhood making your neighbors mad, he won't be a nuisance!!! He'll stay home and won't wander looking for the kitty in heat - and most importantly he won't be impregnating some cat.

Neutering is definately a good idea. If money is an issue when the time comes check out the sticky post at the top of the page for low cost or free spay/neuter clinics.
