Not sure if u r already doing this but maybe try picking the poop up w/ a shovel and throwing it away and then hosing your yard off. :?

Maybe one of them doggie dooley's would help? You put the poop in them and add enzymes which digest the poop back into the ground. I wanted to get one for my dogs but we have too much clay in the yard and I guess they don't work well with clay.

i think it could be because too much moistness from hosing it so much. Try not hosing it down and just cleaning up the poop. Simon is a boy and Taya is a girl, right? I think it is only girl pee (I don't know) that messes stuff up, I don'T have any problems with my yard (I have a boy!) But good luck

Flies like moisture. Their kinda like mosquitos. THey thrive off the poo, lay their eggs in it, they turn to maggots then to flies, and the life cycle starts all over again! Soo the best thing for you to do is to pick up the poo with a shovel, or by placing a plastic bag over your hand, and using it as a glove and picking it up and discarding it. You can get some seven dust and sprinkle it all over your yard. (like your fertilizing)

DO NOT WATER THE LAWN!!! Only water where you've observed your dog urinating. Or if there are overly dry areas. With in a day or two. The flies should be gone.

You can also buy a buz zapper (but I've found that it attracts more bugs than it gets rid of) or by getting some citronella candles an lighting them in the evening out side. Just make sure to blow them out if unsupervised.
