Hello, I just posted a topic asking about my Australian Shepherd puppy throwing up and having diarrhea wondering if it was parvo. I called the emergency vet and was there til 11:50pm and I had said in my other post that I am REALLY paranoid about parvo but it turns out my paranoia paid off and my puppy has a REALLY good chance of living since she was vaccinated for it. The vet was amazed that my puppy was so alert and the test being positive that she did it a second time and it was very positive she said. She gave my pup 2 shots while I was there, an antibiotic and another one to help the gas in her tummy move along cuz she was really gassy. They kept her for the night to keep an eye on her and I will probably get her back Friday morning. I notified the neighbors so they can make sure to keep away from my property and get their dogs vaccinations cuz I don't want to be responsible for any puppies/dogs getting parvo or even dying :( . I don't even have a clue where my pup got it. Well wish my pup luck! I am pretty positive she will be okay... but thanks for trying to help me out, I appreciate it..

Check out the sticky post about parvo for some info about it. She could have got it from the vaccine, or just about anywhere else for that matter. Let us know how she does - the fact that you caught it early is very good.

yeah I am really glad we cought it early and the vet said that since she was already vaccinated and she caught it anyways might be one thing helping save her life.. I have been calling today and checking on her they said no throwing up nor diarrhea and that she is bright and alert so If she continues like she was today she can go home in the morning YAY!!! I miss her already, especially going to sleep last night without her laying next to me...

Well I went to get my puppy today, she was so happy to see me, she thought I had left herthere forever. She was talking the whole way home. She is doing better. The vet prescribed a food that is bland and will keep her tummy settled and I have 2 bottles of pills I have to give her everyday, on is morning and evening and one is every 8 hours. Well I am so glad to have my puppy back, I missed her.
