Been Thinking about Making a Kitty Post-Thing

yea.. been thinking about it since i seen em in the pet store. they cost alot tho so hub pulled me away.

we ended up coming home with this carpet covered little mouse thing with a ball on a spring for a tail for 10 bux lol

anyway- so i was looking at those tall things, cylindrical with a level in the middle.. know what i mean?

anyone know HOW to make something like that?.. or a site that talks about it or anything?... i think my babies would really like one. i woulda bought it--but i gotta think about Raz's vet shots for the next 2 months :shock:

BTW, I get the floor to ceiling cat trees from Walmart for $30. Sometimes they are'nt sturdy enough and I have to fuss with them a bit but so far me and my kitties have been very happy with them.

i have absolutely no idea on how to make the cylindrical ones. i made mine out of storm water pipe, MDF wood, tonnes of brackets lol, 1cm thick rope and a carpet type material. the material feels like carpet but rolls out like normal material, got it from craft/dress fabric shop. waaaay cheaper than normal carpet and much easier to bend etc. staple guns also come in handy! it ended up costing a fortune but it was still 50 dollars cheaper than what it would be in the shops.

OMG i'm a dork or something i paid :m13: $100.00 for a freaking piece of crap thing for my kittys when i first moved here i felt so bad for oscar he had friends at our old house (max and jessy) they would play all the time climb my big huge tree (and all around the neighborhood) well i bought a brand new house (no trees) well little tiny ones if he climbed it it would fall over so i went to a pet store and paid $100.00 he hated it would go near it after a little while he would sleep on the top of it but since i got butters and fonzi they love it problem is it is so flimzy (sp) it freaking falls over all the time i have tried 100 times to figure out how in the heck they screwed this crap togather there are bolts usually they need two ends to get tight well that is the probelm i can turn it and turn it does no good (i got riped off of course story of my life) So butters and fonzi play on my dinning room chairs :shock: and knock them over as well **sigh** i guess i cant win. One day (if i'm ever board ha ha) i have a ton of carpet in the garage and i could get wood i might make my own. NEW GOAL IN MY LIFE LOL

 

:lol: i thought u guys would enjoy seeing those craaaaaazy kitty palaces and tree houses and the like! they are huge- and very extravagent.

Poor Rene. what a sin. *nods* yup- next time make one yourself. i'm sure Kyles can tell ya after the headaches of putting it together it's much more rewarding to see the babies enjoying it over a boughten one.
