Two days ago I adopted my first kitten, 6 months old. Very energetic. He bites, I know it is playful, however, today he drew blood, how do I stop this?

:m23: and welcome! Congrats on your new addition! :0018: What's your kitten's name and do you have pics to share?

Footsie would recommend getting your cat a stuffed animal to take out his aggression on. I think that's a good idea. Footsie's Footsie is on Catster and his posts. Anytime your cat wants to bite, dangle those mice/ fur balls/ feathers on fishing poles. Or play fetch with mice. Lots of people here have good advice for you!

I agree with vene and I would also try to avoid playing with him with your hands as much as possible. Always use toys during play sessions and tire him out as much as possible daily. Some members have previously recommended blowing in the cats face when they bite.

    hi and welcome amy63116!!!

max...is now nine months old. but he bit, and scratched until about six months old...through his six month mark. he just got rambunctious. drawing blood...was a daily occurrance for me

having mikey...has really settled him down that way...he doesnt get aggressive anymore...just plays constantly.

i think your kitty will settle down....with age... :y_the_best:

When my baby was a kitten and he bit I softly tapped him on his nose like his mother would do if he got too rambunctious. He got the idea.
