bleeding toe

    i accidently (well..i dident know) i cut my birds nails (only one)
    and then i realised why it was screaming because its nails were bleeding!!!!!! i nearly cried but my husband told me it was alright and told me it would stop bleeding and that im not suppost to cut their nails is this true?

    Hi, Dont worry to much if the bleeding has stopped and the bird is ok.
    I leave nail cutting to the vets as its easy to cut the nail to far back on a bird which can cause serious damage to the birds feet.
    Just keep a close eye on him to make sure there is no swelling if you notice any swelling at all take him straight to anavian vet who will check it and give an antibiotic shot if needed.

    Well from what I know your not supposed to unless for some reason they are very long, but, they have these special perches that trim down the bird's nails!
