Has anyone ever had a dog swallow a whole chicken thigh (raw)? I'm not sure how concerned I should be about this.

Should be fine. He didn't chew it at all on the way down? Dogs typically munch it up enough for it to fit down their throats, but they don't chew thoroughly like humans do. Raw meat and bones are generally just fine. You should probably encourage him to chew a bit next time, though. The easiest way to do that is to only feed portions bigger than his head so he HAS to chew at least a little bit.

Thanks Jamiya, I appreciate the feedback. Actually she "stole" the piece of chicken from a stack that my fiancee was making for dinner and gulped it down before I could get it from her.

One of the first times I bought raw for the dogs I picked out Ox tail, it looked meaty. I gave Witt the biggest piece because he is the biggest dog, my mistake was that I had lined the dogs up in a row to hand them out. The "he might get mine" mindset is not a good thing when feeding and Witt taught me that quickly. He gulped the whole thing down immediately. He winced and let out a low groan that told me he was in pain. He continued to moan and act like he was half choking while I busily freaked out. I could see the lump in his throat so I gently worked it down with my hand. He was fine in the end and he now licks his food to death. I don't think most dogs would learn from their mistake the way he seems to have...but I am grateful that he did.
I would watch your dog closely for the next couple days, input, output and activity level. Ultimately I am sure she will be fine.
