boxer questions

Hey I wanted to find out how much a boxer would range from in canadain dollars?? anyone know?? anyone know a place where i could get some in ontario?

I don't think they would actually post that sort of information in case they wanted to raise or lower the price of the dog and then they would get stuck sellng it for one price. Why are you looking to buy or sell?

Are you looking for one that is registered? If that does not matter to you www.petfinder.com is a great place to look to adopt a boxer puppy or you can look here http://www.muttart.com/humanelink.htm it's a link to rescue sites listed by individual states. I know you are in Canada but a lot of rescues will do transport.

 

If it helps any, a dollar in the U.S. would be worth 70 cents in Canada. So if an average boxer would be around $500 here (registered) then it should be a little more in Canada. Please realize before deciding on this breed that they are 39 times more likely to get cancer than any other breed. Why this is, I don't know. Bulldogs have similar health problems. Even more, in fact. Keep in mind I am not predudiced against boxers. Quite the opposite. I have a boxer myself, and she is the love of my life. Absolutely as sweet as she can be, and smart as a whip. I'd be lost without her. But because of the cancer risk, and other medical problems they are prone to, they don't normally have a long life span. Normal is about 7-8 years. Sometimes less. They are wonderful dogs, but if this bothers you, it might be better to look at other breeds with fewer potential problems.

 

You'd have to contact several boxer breeders to answer that, you should get an average price, and some a bit higher some a bit lower as it depends on commitment the breeder invests before having a litter (stud selection, health testing sire/dam, pedigree etc, show potential or pet etc) and the potential of the puppy. More importantly than initial cost is being prepared for the costs the first year and after with vet visits, feeding, training and equipment/toys needed to keep your baby happy and safe. You may also want to contact the Canadian Boxer Rescue, as there are some great pets who need a good home.
