Ok at the Petsmart near me there are a pair of Firemouths that are divided from the other side of the tank since they have made babies and the babies are now "wigglers" and there is alot of them. Do you think it would be a good move or not to buy these pair and leave or take their babies behind? If I do buy them they would go in a 29. Would they hurt each other or ever mate again?

I dont think they would do good in a 29g I think you need 50g +. You could Move ur cons to the 29g. You coul;d probaly make some $ off the firemouths :y_the_best:

I mean would they let me take the babies with them lol. O and if someone can answer the other questions that would be great. I read published books saying 2 Firemouths minimum tank is a 20.

We can't tell you if the store owners will let you have the fry too. You'll have to ask them. Personally, I wouldn't take the fry because then you'd be stuck with a bunch of fry to find new homes for.

I also think a 29 gallon is just barely big enough for a pair of firemouths, but they'd be much better off in about a 35 - 40 gallon.

I work at a petsmart and my boss would probably let you take the babies because that is a tank we can't use for new fish. but be careful depending on the size of the babies the parents will eat them. i say ask you will probably have good luck but they might charge you a little for them.
    thanks for shopping with us.
