I have a 4 yr old british staffy and 3 days in a row she has vomited up a yellow liquid (i assume it is bile) what could be the cause of this. She seems healthy in all other ways, although she does seem to be pooing(excuse the language) a bit more than usual. Could it be due to the sudden change in weather (hotter weather)? thankyou :(

My dog does this occcasionaly, I think she gets an upset stomach and doesnt feel well but doesnt last more than a day. I dont know what causes it, but she has always had a sensitive stomach.

Since its been three days, I would defininately call your vet.

They vomit bile when their tummies are empty, so sometimes feeding smaller amounts more frequently can help. When I first put my dogs on a raw diet, they would occasionally vomit bile and small bone chips, but their systems were adjusting to the new diet.

Does your dog vomit after exercise, or just sort of out of the blue? I wouldn't worry much now, but I would watch and if it persists you might want to call and ask a vet about it.

Vomiting bile can also be a sign of giaridia, an intestinal parasite. Have a stool sample checked. If there are a lot of giaridia most dogs will also have recurring diarrhea, but if there are only a few, they may just vomit.
