HI and welcome to the forum.

Birds need to be atleast 2years old before allowing them to breed female birds will lay eggs at 6months old but its not wise to allow her to raise chicks as this will put a large demand on her body and can be fatal.

The nest box should have about 1inch of plain woodshavings the pair usually throw this and any other material you may use out of the nest but keep putting it back in and eventually they will lay eggs.

When a pair of birds breed the male will either fertilise the eggs or he wont but she will still lay eggs anyway.
There is noway of knowing if the eggs are fertile until about 4-5days after incubation peiod has started which does not usually start until the 2nd or 3rd egg has been laid so its advised to add a few days onto the date the egg was laid.
1 egg is laid everyth other day with the average clutch size being 6 sometimes like mine they can have more mine laid 10eggs.

The incubation period is 19days with usually 2eggs hatching within hours of each other.

Make sure they have cuttlefich bone and mineral block attached to the inside of the cage at all times as the female needs these especially when egg laying as if she has a calcium deficiency this can cause egg binding which is fatal and even soft shells dead chicks the list goes on..
