First Holly has gone home  she was miserable here. She was afraid of my cats and Molly. She was always an only pet and the number of pets here scared her. She's so sweet, so nonaggressive. All she knew to do was hide. But oh what a lovebug. She has gone to her new home with an older lady and a 17 year old Siamese whose lives to eat and sleep.
Holly got home and had a nice cuddling session with her adopter and they have already bonded. Holly's adopter is very pleased, and I hope Holly has many many years in her new home.
And there's another next week. So many Siamese cats, no few fosters.
I am getting another return. Owned by one family for 5 years. They got a new dog and Catnip attacked the dog. Owner took her to the vet to be PTS and vet refused. Siamese Rescue got her.
She was adopted and has lived happily with her family for another 5 years. Doesn't like the new male Siamese so they are returning her to rescue.
I get her next Saturday. She's a tortie point. She'll probably be here awhile due to her age. I think there's more behind this from seeing her health records ($600 dental!!!) but we'll see. Not sure this one will get rehomed as quickly as I've been able to do this past year.
And Ben Kilham :y_the_best: my hero.
He will be on Good Morning American next Friday to talk about his new documentary. I will probably miss it due to work (mayhaps I'll be sick that morning).
And his new documentary will be on National Geographic channel next Saturday the 8th. 8 or 9 pm I forget which.
This man is amazing...simply amazing. Listening to him made me think of a bear. He's 6'5" tall and while he's talking he looks like he wants to hide behind a tree. You can tell this man is more comfortable spending hours in the woods walking with his orphaned bear cubs than talking to a group of people (I can relate).
If you can watch his new documentary you'll have a new hero too. I've had several close encounters with bears right in my own backyard - although I was never scared, nor did I feel like I was in danger (although the mother/cub incident nearly made me have to change my shorts) I do have a whole new outlook on black bears.

Sounds like you got your hands full all the time Mary :D Congrats on finding Holly a new home, and good luck with Catnip (love the name  )

I haven't heard of Ben Kilham, but I'll google him

Hi Mary_NH. Thank goodness there are vets out there with a brain! I can't believe the owners wanted to put Catnip to sleep! Glad the vet rescued him from this fate.

If you get COX Cable they have a great cable box:HDTV. You can record all your favorite shows and watch them later. Ot how about getting TIVO? At least Escape toChimp Eden wasn't on last Friday, so you didn't miss it.

no we don't TIVO. We have DirectTV satellite and we can get TIVO with that but it's not that important to me. Reruns are always around. People are amazed we only have one TV!!! Can only watch one at a time. Many evenings DH is studying and I'm sewing or knitting or online.

LOL. We have two t.v;s but only one has cable. The other is just for videos/dvds. I know people who don't even have a t.v. They think it's a waste of time. I agree about some shows, but there are a lot of great informative shows too. To each his own.
