Can Cockatiels Nesting box be changed?

    Hi,
I just found out I used the wrong materials in the nesting box. The fourth egg was laid today. I was wondering if it would hurt to change nesting boxes now or leave well enough alone. If I can change the nesting box can I use paper towels or news papers shredded upd? What is your suggestion? Also the female/male moved the shavings I had in there and are sitting on the eggs with nothing under them. Where should I put the extra water for the female to sit on?
Thank you for your time and help

Hi since she is on her 4th egg its best to leave the eggs and nest as they are.

With my nests i line it with 2-3inches of plain wood shavings i compact them down and the birds seem happy to lay there eggs.

I currently have a clutch of 5babies in one nest at the moment.
I never interfere during egg laying as this will put them off and they usually abandon the eggs.

I put a dish of water on the cage floor away from perches so that they do not poop in it they are quite happy to hop down and jump in.

Make sure the room stays warm at all times as the hen can become chilled very quickly.

Now is the best time to feed her soft foods such as boiled eggs, Boiled brown rice, Boiled pastas, Wholewheat bread.
Fruit and vegtables this will get her used to eating these for when the chicks hatch.
I also give my birds an egg food which is designed for handfeeding and weaning of baby birds here in the uk its called EMP or CeDe this can be given all year round.
