Hi guys...When I first got Winnie over a year ago I was feeding her Canidae. She did great on it, and her coat looked amazing. Then I switched her food a couple times after I got my two other pups to try some new stuff. I used Innova which made her poop a lot and her coat didnt look as good, and she gained a lot of weight. Now they are on Chicken Soup. I really want to switch back to Canidae but my Vet was saying she does not like foods that are for all life stages b/c puppies and adult dogs have differnt needs and if you feed them a food for all life stages one of them is probley not getting something in their food that they need. What do you guys think about this? If I switch to Canidae Winnie will be doing good agian and her coat will look better, and I can feed it to all of them and wont have to buy 3 differnt types of food. So what should I do, I cant decide? Thanks :)

winnie, why cant you feed all of the ame food? how old are the dogs, canidae is a very good food and you will probably have a lot less shedding yo talked about

Honeybears...I'm not feeding them all the same food because I'm feeding Winnie adult , Lana puppy, and Sydney is on low residue food because of the pill episode. If I switch back to Canidae at least Lana and Winnie can eat the same thing and soon Syd can too. I think I will switch, your right about the shedding too that would help. When Winnie was on it before she didnt shed as much, I had forgotten about that. Thanks!

at that age she should be on adult and good luck go slow with the transition, mix a little at a time over the next few days to get lana acclimated you should do that for winnie too

If you were happy with the Canidae I would just switch back. Puppies and adults need the same nutrients its just that puppies need slightly higher levels of certain nutrients. Its really all in the amount of food that is feed...thats why adult dogs usually require less food when fed most "all life stages" brands. These brands are more nutrient dense so that they are suitable for puppies.
