    Greetings

I was wondering if any of you own those cat tree houses or condos, and if so how do your pet like them? We have a condo shaped like a washing machine drum and Ameratto loves sleeping in it. The bigger one are quiet a bit of money and I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a site I could shop from?

I'm from Canada just to let you know but I'm not against ordering online

    Thanks

I have a cat tree I got through Fosters & Smith (not a high-end one but middle road) Just be sure the bases are wide on the bottom when you do get one cause the smaller bases are tippy. My cats love the one I got them. Ebay has tons too. Also there is a website that has plans for them if you are handy

    Booger absolutely loves her condo!

She's gotten a lot bigger now though and hubby and I have our eye on a condo shaped and colored like a hollow tree with branches which we want to get her for xmas from PetSmart.

I know they're pricey. Wish I had a power saw so I could make them myself. I do plan on trying sometime in the future. I couldn't see making them for sale online as well made ones are pretty heavy (expensive shipping), and the customer would have to assemble them.

But I do have to admit that the store-bought ones are extremely well made.

Good advice! As you can see in the pic of Booger's condo, the base is quite wide and long. However, now that she's gotten bigger, even with that big base, the whole unit wobbles when she takes a running leap up the pole! That's why we're looking for a larger one for her.

She's about twice the size now than what she was when I took that pic.

Vene! That is awsome! Booger would have a field day on that one!

Thanks Cassie (Booger looks so cute lounging on the scratching post!) and EternalFlame. That was the pic when the scratching post first arrived. It was too close to our front door so hubby made me move it behind the sofas. The cats love them as you can see Pumpkin and Rene fighting over it giving each other dirty looks and Pumpkin's tail is all fluffed up. LOL's.

Vene: HOW MUCH did you pay for that monster?? (don't be offended, I would love to have a "monster" like that :) ) Mine cost about $32, on sale. I think was over 50% discount... :|

Bente - I absolutely love Kyrre! I just want to hug him everytime I see his picture.

I think I'm going to build a cat house in the coming month or so. We have a pile of wood filling our garage and lots of spare carpeting. But knowing Moe, she'll not even look twice at it.

gee whiz...what is my problem??? seems like EVERYONE has a cat house. uh....HELLO LYNN!!! ive had cat all my life...never a cat house.

my question. if you buy a used one...isnt there a risk that the cat before it could have been sick...or had some kind of disease??? can they be passed through a cat house???

I never thought about a used one...I wonder if having the other cat's scent on it would repell the new cat :0011:

Well, as you can see, Booger has rather outgrown her condo. That's why we're going to get her a bigger one for xmas. But even though she's a bit big for it, she still loves the thing. You should see her in the tube on the bottem chasing her tail around. The whole thing rocks back and forth. It just cracks me up! LOL

    me too

I want one too. The little condo we bought cost $40 though and the trees are $100-$200.

I'm going to try and make my own as well.

Bente, I bought mine off ebay for $185 plus $55 shipping. Had I known better, I would've gone to a local pet store and purchased a similar one for half the price. It's a good thing my cats love their cat tree. :p I wish I were creative like Kyles, then I would've built my kitties their cat condo and saved a fortune!

vene: that is an awesome cat tree! Looks like they enjoy it too.

I got all my cat stuff from Walmart. The floor to ceiling trees were $30, the 2 story condo was $20 and the 3 story condo was $30. My cats love them and use all of them frequently. I replace the cat trees every year since they rip the heck out of them. Is there a Walmart in Canada?

Where isn't there a Walmart? We have lots here but I find pet stuff is about the same price at Petsmart.

Yeah, I know they're pricey but if you can't build one yourself, it's money well spent.

The Walmart here doesn't carry the big ones. Even the Super Walmart only has the small scratching post types.
