Anyones cats insist on sleeping on your head? A few months ago my 13 yr old cat ( almost 14) suddenly started sleeping on the pillow right next to my head, as opposed to by my side. But just recently she has begun to pad my hair, and then position herself onto my head at night .. very cute but it also gives me very disturbed nights! I love the fact that she wants to be so close to me, but I'm certainly suffering from my broken nights now. I have several cat beds available for her and the other cats in the household, but she obviously prefers being as close to me as possible. I've never had a cat who's lived beyond the age of 12 so could this be just an age thing?

Copper will try to sleep on my pillow curled around my head. But I am allergic to him, so I have to push him over to his pillow beside me. He's six, so it's not an age thing with him.

The few times that I've left my bedroom door open, I've woke to find Bean on my pillow with his body wrapped around my head. Bean is 6yrs old. Tiddy also tries to sleep on peoples heads.

My 2 yr. old Tigger likes to sleep on my pillow, too. And if I'm really lucky, he just might share it with me! Some times, he'll try and groom my hair, too. My 6 month old Smokey likes to lay right by my head, too. I've had other cats, and these two are the only ones I remember doing that.

I used to have a kitty that loved to sleep right above my head. He is in kitty heaven now. I've never had a kitty that wanted to sleep on my head.

Since she just started doing this, it might be age.
My oldest cat is 17 and a half. He's very deaf, half blind and I think he just likes being near me,.. security issues..and since I'm partially deaf too, I understand.

I just want a tad of pillow tho!! lol and lets not even talk about breath!!
    eeek

Note: you also have to be more careful, bc their joints get stiffer.
i'm a horrid sleeper and my other cats are usually too scared to sleep near me.. after i really fall asleep! lol

Pooky was a head or neck sleeper. It was great in the winter time. Milo is a head sleeper too. It makes it hard to breathe and sleep at times. Pooky died of renal failure at 1 1/2 years and Milo is almost 6 years old.
