Cats and toilets

My 10 mo. old kitten, Tigger is obsessed with the toilet! As soon as it's flushed, he's got to jump up and watch it, almost looks like he's ready to fall in. In fact, he prefers to drink out of it, instead of his water bowl. I give him fresh water, and he heads for the toilet! What's up with that? Anybody else have a cat that does that? Nano.

Yes! My baby Booger is fascinated with watching the swirling water and looks like she's ready to jump in, but never does. She's the same way when I shower or do the dishes. I think it's the running water that fascinates them. Some cat's will be so fussy that they'll only drink from fresh running water!

Yes, both of my kitties also like running water of any kind. That's why I have several pet fountains in the house. This helps a lot. There are different types of pet fountains, but here is an example pic below. I don't let my cats drink out of the toilets for health reasons (I keep the seats down), nor are they allowed to drink out of the sinks. I don't think they mind, as they really like their water fountains.

LOL. Yep, mine love to watch the toilet flush too. They are also facinated with the bath tub.

Yep, most of my kitties love to watch the swirlies from the flushing, especially Milo, Vene (RIP), Rene. LOL's!

    Kyrre does that too!
I know i've posted this pic here before but I just have to:

Now hes a little bigger, so he manages to get his entire front legs over the edge. He just kinda hangs there and watches the water, and sometime he'll try to touch it... :0017:

And he'll always come running whenever I'm in the bathroom. If I'm using the toilet or the shower, he'll just sit and watch until I'm done. But if I use the sink, he'll jump up and just push me away...
Maybe I should consider a pet fountain too :)

    Adorable picture Bente.

We always keep the toilet seats down so my kitties don't have a chance to look in them but they never really seemed interested anyway.

Although I remember once when they were kittens, we forgot to put the tiolet seat down and we heard a funny noise and saw Mittens running out of the bathroom all wet. She must have fallen into the toilet and scurried right back out again. It scared us but it was funny.

We definitely remembered to keep the seats down after that.
