    hi,
i have an 8 month old female domestic cat. this morning, i noticed that her feces is orange and more watery than usual. and it smells worse. usually it is a bit harder and darker in color, dark brown.
i didnt change anything in her diet. i gave the cat a shower a day before this happened cuz she was really dirty from the mud outside. does this have anything to do with it, cuz this was the first time i give her a shower..maybe she got cold? i noticed that she is more quite than usual and she seems sad..always hiding and sleeping. but she is eating and drinking fine. should i be concerned?

is this color a constant or a one-time thing? I know with my dog's liver disease I have to watch to make sure her fecal matter isn't getting to be an orange color as that is an indicator of possible jaundice - but can't imagine this in a cat that young.

If it continues I'd take a sample to the vet...maybe something she ate outside?

:m23: and welcome. Here's a stool color guide:

You really should take a sample to the vet just for a peace of mind.

Good luck and keep us posted on her condition. BTW, what is her name and do you have any pics to share?

you may want to check for parasites in the stool. max had yellowish (mustard color) stools when he had giardia, which is a parasite that is very hard to find. i would definitely take a stool sample in first thing...

    hi,
    thank you all for replying.
I called the vet, and she said if it continues then i should bring a sample.
But everything is back to normal now, maybe she ate something outside.
    thanks all again

how do i put a pic here?

    bye

I'm so glad Luna is better. Some people like to use photobucket and others tinypic. I like snapfish. It's easy to use. Sign up for free, download your pics there. They appear as little icons. Click the small icon and the picture becomes enlarged. Right click the image and click "copy image location". Come back here. Click the Img tab, then paste the copy image location and click the Img tab again. Voila.
