Chicken Soup for the Dog...........

Our local feed store started getting Chicken Soup for the dog lovers soul. It looked like really good ingredients. I was wondering has anyone tried this food, and your thoughts on it. Its also a little cheaper than the Solid Gold I feed know. Thanks

That is what I feed my dogs and they both love it. I had my younger Pom on what he was on when we first got him (what the breeder had him on) not to upset his tummy and he would keep getting into Lacies food so I was glad when we got him completely switched over too. He liked it so much better then his other food. I would recommend it.

 

Yes, it is a quality brand of food. I have used it in the past and my dogs love it too. It is hard to get though, So I buy either purina pro plan, or Nutro max. My dogs like Diamond too but again its another dog food that is hard to get around here.

Yes, Chicken Soup is one of the few kibbles I would consider feeding my dogs, if I were to feed kibble. And it is one of the few I will buy as training treats since I don't feed kibble.

 

OK I guess I will be the only "downer" in the group. Yes I think it has quality ingredients and I know a couple people who feed it and their dogs do well on it. We actually used to carry it in the shop I work at. I tried it with my dogs a long time ago and three out of the four got horrible gas so I quit using it. I now feed my dogs raw about 90% of the time. Tournament weekends and a few meals a week when I am working late they will get kibble. If I were feeding kibble full time I would rotate not only the brand but the protein source as well. So my personal suggestion would be for you to find several brands that your dogs do well on and rotate. Some people will rotate a lower priced (but quality dog food) with a more expensive one, insuring their dogs get lot's of variety and a good group of protein sources.
