Chieve and green olives

A couple weeks ago I was eating green olives out of the jar and Chieve came over to sit on my lap and started sniffing my olive hand then began rubbing his face all over my hand like crazy. I thought it was funny so I took an olive and tossed it onto the chair to see what he would do. He jumped onto the chair and started rolling all over the olive and licking it...he did'nt eat it though. It was hillarious! It was like catnip x 2. :mrgreen:

Well, tonight I was eating green olives again but this time I used a plastic fork. Chieve came over and tried to steal the fork so I tossed it on the floor. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen....he started rolling around all over the fork and talking. He was hugging the fork and rubbing it all over his face and tossing it around. I took the fork and put an olive on it and gave it back to him and he went nuts tossing it around, talking up a storm and rolling all over it until it fell off the fork. By the time he was finished the olive was broken and flat and Chieve was exhausted.
I've never seen a cat react like this to an olive. I wanted to go grab my camera but was afraid he would stop as soon as I left the room. I was laughing so hard I was crying!

All the cats I've ever had love green olives. They have a catnip-effect on them.

A while ago I posted some pictures of Moe going crazy with an olive. She played with that thing for about 1/2 an hour until she finally ate it. Here are some of the pictures again:

otis used to do the same thing, and i had a blue point siamese in college named thai...he loved olives, popcorn, cheese, butter, well...just about anything he could get his hands on...

They don't eat it, just lick it and push it around the room.

I would try the olive thing but that sounds really hard on the carpet....
